Welcome to AS AICE Media Studies: All about me

 Welcome to AICE Media Studies! I am so excited to learn and grow throughout the year. All my life I've lived in Florida. I was born in Hollywood, FL and for a short time I moved to Winter Haven. I don’t remember much from the small apartment we lived in but the area now is quiet and mostly populated by retired seniors. Eventually when I was about 3 we moved back to Hollywood in a small townhouse. I lived there with my Mom, Sister, and Grandparents for almost 2 years. Many of my earliest memories are there. For example, one of my first Christmases we bought a fake pink tree that my sister and I got tricked into believing that Alvin and the Chipmunks lived in it. Then my mom met my stepdad in late 2010. They dated for a year and a half and got married in July of 2012. My second little sister was born in December of 2012. We moved to the house where I currently reside. I moved into kindergarten that same year at Sheridan Park Elementary School. To this day that school has my heart. The friendships and memories I made there top all that I have made anywhere else. I graduated 5th grade in 2018. I then went to Apollo Middle School. The first day of 6h grade was a complete culture shock. I saw a multitude of new people with different backgrounds that I was eager to explore. Luckily, my best friend was there with me to help me acclimatize to the new setting. I stayed there all 3 years and now I'm here at Fort Lauderdale High.

Amber (2021) Thriller Short film

  For further research my group and I decided to watch Amber, an award winning thriller short film made in 2021. In the establishing shot, we noticed that the filter and coloring was very summery and chill. There were also birds chirping in the beginning, making it clear that it was a chill day in the film. There wasn't any talking for the first couple of minutes in the film. In the film, the barber realizes that the guys hair he was cutting was a child abductor that the police were looking for. When we found out and the sound effect of realizing made us know for sure that this was a thriller. In almost all thrillers there are the same sound effects of the sound of  "realization." Then the guy looked out the window and saw the teddy bear the girl he abducted also has. When he saw, there was more scary sound effects. Research Blog: Commercial Conventions

 To research the Coca Cola commercials we began by doing the most logical thing; watching previous commercials. So we searched up the videos we could find of the more recent Coke commercials. In doing so we could see the commonalities and ideas we want to recreate.  1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOMhOjgNd7Q "Open that Coca-Cola" This first commercial is filled with lots of vibrant colors, music, and creative dance numbers. The part that caught our eye was the scene where the female subject does the wave with her eyebrows. The camera then goes under the table to her feet and she begins dancing. Overall it was a light hearted  and fun which I admire.  2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VR9Iemy8SM "Turn up the Rhythm" Within the first scenes the camera shows a wide angle of a Coca Cola factory.
